At Sensational Smiles, our experienced team is dedicated to providing exceptional care and building strong relationships with our valued patients. Our family practice welcomes patients of all ages and provides personalized service, treating every patient like an individual. Our skillful team has extensive experience handling a range of dental concerns. From endodontic treatment to full mouth reconstructions, we’re here to support your oral health journey.
Dental Assistants
Tara is one of our rockstar dental assistants. She joined the Sensational Smiles family in June of 2011. Tara is originally from Luverne, Minnesota. She graduated from Minnesota West Community and Technical College with a degree in dental assisting in 2011. Outside of work, you can find Tara spending time with her husband and their fur baby, Suzie, going for walks, playing at the dog parks and swimming pools, and visiting PetSmart for a toy. She also enjoys kicking back outside on a patio while enjoying a cold beverage with friends. You can find her out trail riding in the Black Hills and playing volleyball through Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation in the summertime.
Chais is our southern peach, all the way from Greenwood, Arkansas. She went to Lake Area Tech in Watertown where she graduated with an associate degree in dental assisting and then joined Sensational Smiles in 2020. Outside of work, Chais enjoys spending time with her fiancé and spoiling their daughter.
Kelly is from Canton, South Dakota. She and her husband have two children. Kelly graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute with a Registered Dental Assistant degree and has been with Sensational Smiles since 2017. Her role here is assisting the dentists and making sure the patient is comfortable throughout any dental procedure. When Kelly isn’t at work, you can find her volunteering as an EMT, in the garden, hanging out with her kids, playing hockey, reading, and enjoying a little bike riding and cocktails on the patio in the summertime.
Sidney was born and raised in South Dakota and joined the Sensational Smiles family in 2021. She graduated from Lake Area Technical College in 2021 as a dental assistant. Outside of work, she loves to hang out with her friends, be outside, and watch movies. She is known for her great personality and sense of humor.
Adrienne was born and raised in southwest Minnesota. Before entering the dental field, she was a certified nursing assistant for four years. Adrienne got her dental assisting degree from Minnesota West and joined our Sensational Smiles family in August of 2022. In her free time, Adrienne enjoys shopping and hiking and spending time with her family and boyfriend. Adrienne’s favorite part about her job is that she gets to work with great people, meet new people daily, and play a part in helping others!
Peyton was born and raised right here in South Dakota and came to Sensational Smiles in September of 2022. She attended the University of South Dakota and received a bachelor’s degree in communications and marketing. The things Peyton loves most about Sensational Smiles are the people she gets to work with and the patients she gets to meet. She loves to travel home to see her family, hang out with her friends, and spend time outdoors.
Dani is from right here in South Dakota, and she became a part of our Sensational Smiles family in September of 2022. She has been in the dental field for over 10 years. Dani graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute with an associate degree in dental assisting. In her free time, Dani enjoys spending time with her family and stays busy running after her son!
Brenda grew up right here in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School. Outside of work, Brenda enjoys playing softball and traveling all around to watch her son play soccer. Brenda was a nanny at one point before becoming a dental assistant in 1997. She lived in New Jersey for a while before moving back to her hometown of Sioux Falls. Brenda’s favorite part about working here at Sensational Smiles is all the fun we have together!
Liana is one of our wonderful dental assistants who came to us from Sioux City, Iowa. She moved to Sioux Falls and joined our team in the beginning of 2023. Liana graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College with a degree in dental assisting. She plans to further her education in the dental field someday. Outside of working, Liana enjoys hanging out with her family and spouse. She also really enjoys watching sci-fi, Disney, and K-dramas. She also loves to play video games and arcade games, whether it’s downtown or at home.
Elizabeth (but known to everyone as Liz) works as a dental assistant and joined Sensational Smiles in 2023. Outside of the dental office, she loves to go on adventures, whether that be side-by-siding with friends or sitting around a fire. She also likes to try new foods. Liz is the a proud mother of Kaden, who recently graduated in 2023. She loves spending time with her son and his long-term girlfriend, Olivia, as well as and her friends, who are just like family.
Dental Hygienists
Ashley hails from Hills, Minnesota, and joined the Sensational Smiles family in 2021. She went to the University of South Dakota, where she majored in dental hygiene and minored in business administration. Outside of work, she likes to spend time with friends and family, help on the family farm, and spend lots of time outdoors.
Carisa is from Delmont, South Dakota, and has been a part of the Sensational Smiles family since 2016. She went to the University of South Dakota and graduated with an associate degree in dental hygiene. Outside of work, you will find her going to her kid’s activities and spending time with her friends and family, as well as boating and traveling.
Haley is from Aberdeen, South Dakota, and has been a part of our Sensational Smiles family since 2020. She graduated from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota, with an associate degree in dental hygiene. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family rock hunting, camping, kayaking, hiking, and looking for UFOs.
Katie hails from Sioux Falls and came to Sensational Smiles in 2016. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene and a minor in health sciences from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. In her spare time, she loves to hunt, fish, sew, and crochet, but her favorite thing is spending time with her husband and two little girls.
Mary is from the Sioux Falls area and came to Sensational Smiles in 2009. She went to South Dakota State University for two years, where she played the trumpet in the Pride of the Dakotas and graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene. Outside of work, you’ll find her spending time with her husband and their daughter, hanging out at a bonfire, or having fun with her family and friends. A fun fact about Mary is that her dad has always been a ham radio operator, so she grew up knowing Morse code!
Sandy was born in the Sioux Falls area and came to our little Sensational Smiles family in 2016. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene. When she’s not at work, you can find her reading or antiquing.
Laura was born and raised in Pella, Iowa, but moved to Yankton, South Dakota, where she graduated high school. She went to the University of Missouri to pursue a history degree for two years, but ended up graduating with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene before joining Sensational Smiles in 2009. Outside of work, you can probably find her at the theater (she loves musicals and plays) or going on adventures with her family. She also enjoys running and cooking. Laura is a quality time kind of girl who just wants to make people’s lives better. It’s why she loves her job and her patients so much.
Dani was born in Vietnam and moved to the U.S. when she was in fourth grade. Dani graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene and joined our Sensational Smiles family in May of 2022. Dani’s favorite part about working here is building relationships with both her patients and the team. When Dani isn’t working, she enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with friends. She is also a licensed nail technician!
Emily was born and raised right here on a farm in South Dakota. Emily joined our Sensational Smiles family after graduating from the University of South Dakota in May of 2022. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene. Emily’s favorite things about working at Sensational Smiles are how supportive her team is and how they really feel like a family. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching sports, and spending time with family.
Audrey was born and raised in northeast Nebraska. She received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Wayne State in 2015, and following that, she attended dental hygiene school at UNMC College of Dentistry. She graduated with her degree in dental hygiene in 2017. If Audrey isn’t working, you can likely find her using her photography skills, traveling, working out, or spending time with her husband and their dog, Boone. Audrey’s favorite parts about working at Sensational Smiles are getting to meet new people and ensuring her patients are comfortable.
Business Team
Audrey joined Sensational Smiles in May of 2020. She is originally from Hockeytown, USA (better known as Warroad, Minnesota). After high school, Audrey furthered her education at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. SDSU is where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She then went on to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and completed a bachelor’s in English education. After her time in Whitewater, she returned to SDSU and earned a master’s in student affairs administration. Outside of work, Audrey enjoys watching football (Go BIG! Go BLUE! Go JACKS! And go, Pack, go!), chasing after kids, and researching genealogy. A fun fact about Audrey is that she loves to laugh! She believes that “the most wasted of days is the one without laughter.”
Candace is our business team lead. She was born and raised in Sioux Falls and graduated from Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minnesota, with a degree in photography. She joined our Sensational Smiles family back in 2011. This mama loves to smile and enjoys working out, reading, spending time with family and friends, and taking photographs.
Christine comes to us from Minnesota, where she graduated from Rochester Community and Technical College as a registered dental assistant. She joined Sensational Smiles in the beginning of 2023, and we couldn’t be happier to have her here! Christine works on our business team, but outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, boating, and going on vacations. She loves to watch her daughter at sporting events too! Christine is grateful for her family and friends.
Christie is from Nebraska (Go Huskers!) and came to our Sensational Smiles family in 2017. She graduated with a degree in social work and business from the University of Sioux Falls. When not at work, you can find her reading, playing with her kids and puppies, or cooking.
Marcy comes to us from North Dakota, where she graduated with a degree in social work. She joined Sensational Smiles in 2019. Outside of work, she loves to work on and remodel her house with her husband, attend sporting events, and spend time with her family and friends. She also absolutely loves Christmas, and the longest she has had her tree up (so far) is the year she left it from October 1 to May 1.
Megan grew up in Beresford and graduated from Beresford High School. She joined our Sensational Smiles family in June of 2020. She’s a mom of two, and outside of work, you can find her spending time with her family, baking, reading, and crafting.
Brittney is one of our business team members and is from Armour, South Dakota. Brittney graduated school from Southeast Technical College with associate degrees in entrepreneurship and marketing. Outside of Sensational Smiles, Brittney loves to read, watch true crime, bake, kayak, and hang out with family and friends. If Brittney isn’t here, you might find her at Eileen’s Cookies! She works there part time and loves to spoil us with leftovers at the office.
Ali is one of our business team members. She moved to Sioux Falls from De Smet in 2015 and joined the practice in 2023. She is a big fan of local music and also enjoys watching movies and reading. But her favorite hobby is crocheting, which she has been doing since age 10. Ali is married to her husband, Zach, and they like to spend time together with their much-loved cats.
